AECOM is seeking a Software Development Intern to be based remotely.

This position is expected to begin in June 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
  • Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study


AECOM's Digital Solutions team in the NY Metro Area is seeking a remote Full Stack Developer Intern who wants to learn how we leverage technology to enable our internal and external clients.

We are looking for someone with attention to detail to get involved with code development, maintaining and optimizing responsive websites. Applicants should have an interest in UI/UX design and DevOps.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain user-facing layouts and features
  • Work in a collaborative environment
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Work closely with UI/UX designer providing technical feasibility and recommendations
  • Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability
  • Provide website maintenance and enhancements

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited program
  • Must have completed second year of Computer Science related studies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Express or .Net Core Development
  • Experience developing Web API’s
  • Experience following Secure Development Lifecycle
  • Firm understanding and experience following of SOLID Principles
  • Experience in Agile Development Environments
  • Experience as developer in test
  • Front-end framework experience (React / Redux, Angular)
  • Proficiency in server-side languages, node Express, Python or .Net Core
  • Experience with MySQL or SQL Server Databases
  • Experience using Serverless technologies
  • Attention to detail and quality in design
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Data visualization d3/chart.js experience
  • AWS S3 and EC2 experience
  • Azure AD experience
